Transform in Nature
Forest Walks
Return to source.
The last Saturday of every month, I lead contemplative walks in the Florida wilds, an experience that reconnects participants with the beautiful community of life that exists beyond the confines of the human world. As we walk, guided mindfulness practices help participants engage fully with their surroundings, allowing the forest's sounds, textures, and scents to bring everyone into the present moment. Offering presence is a first step in rebuilding a reciprocal and sustainable relationship with nature. It transforms how participants view their own bodies and consciousness, the wider community of life, and the indigenous ancestors who lived on this land for millennia before us.
The benefits of forest immersion are profound and multifaceted. Research has shown that time spent in nature significantly reduces stress, enhances mood, and improves overall cognitive function. But beyond these measurable health benefits, forest walks serve as a spiritual conduit, offering a path back to our intrinsic place within nature. Participants often report a renewed sense of peace, a deeper understanding of their interconnectedness with all life, and an awakening to our sacred responsibility to our planet. This experience is ultimately an invitation to restore our relationship with the earth and all its inhabitants.
